Principal Melissa Watts is a brilliant instructional leader and the principal who transformed Robinson G. Jones PreK-8 from a state-takeover risk to one of Ohio's top-performing schools. Under her leadership, the school climbed from 7% to 87% proficiency in Mathematics on state performance measures and earned five stars — the highest possible rating — for Gap Closing, a distinction that reflects extraordinary gains for the students the system has historically underserved. Melissa rebuilt the school's instructional core around grade-level mastery and student-engaged assessment, honoring Robinson G. Jones's tradition of rich, accelerated learning while raising the bar on what every student was expected to know and be able to do.
