Get an exclusive preview of the revised CSTA PK-12 Standards and explore the implications of new content in AI, Ethics, and Human-Centered Design, and more on your classroom. Collaborate and reflect with peers to identify practical next steps for integrating these future-focused priorities into your classroom.

Outline

5 min - Welcome, Framing, and Background - This will include a brief overview of the CSTA PK-12 Standards revision process with an emphasis on classroom impact.

20 min - Standards Deep Dive - This will include an exclusive preview and an interactive exploration of the updated standards with a focus on areas that are new or more heavily emphasized as compared to previous standards.

20 min - Discussion & Ideation 1 (in small groups by grade band) - Participants will discuss the following with consideration for the updated standards:
-What do new emphases in areas like AI and Ethics mean for my classroom?
-What is one lesson I should consider updating to ensure my curriculum is future-focused?
-What supports (e.g., resources, guidance, curriculum, PD) do I need in order to teach the updated standards?

10 min - Group Share-Out - Groups will share top ideas from their discussions. We will use a combination of digital sharing via Slido and verbal sharing to ensure all ideas are captured.

5 min - Wrap-Up & Next Steps - This will include an overview of available resources, as well as opportunities to learn more. Any remaining time will be used for Q&A.
