Session description

Traditional assessments struggle to capture creativity, problem-solving, or the ability to tackle complex challenges. They are also far more susceptible to cheating than more authentic assessments. So why haven't we seen more innovation in how we assess student learning? This panel will address some of the challenges with familiar testing approaches and explore how we can begin to reimagine student assessments in a way that better reflects the skills students need for future learning, work, and life. We'll discuss the role of technology in enabling new types of assessment as well as how to think about academic integrity in an AI world. This is about creating assessment practices that celebrate what students can do, not just what they can recite.
