Session description
Purpose & objective
Purpose: Present the AI training program implemented at IST.
Objective: Help participants replicate and adapt the program in their own school context.
The program is based on the Action Research, Design Thinking, and Edtech Pilot study models.
The program is a year-long initiative. The audience will engage with the different steps of the process, so they understand how their participants will be setting a goal, reflecting on the powers and pitfalls of AI, use AI to brainstorm solutions, plan their action, collect and analyze data on their impact.
Outline
There will be 3 main parts, each lasting about 10mn. These steps follow the cycle used during the training program. This includes setting a goal, identifying tools along the SAMR continuu, action planning, etc. These steps all involve the use of AI tools. The session will thus be hands-on, as the audience will engage with the same activities as their future participants. Just like them, they will also be sharing in "talking teams" focused on unrelated goals and "working teams" creating final products for similar users (e.g., AI use guidelines for students, AI use guidelines for faculty).
Supporting research
The overall content of the program is ISTE-aligned. The format is also derived from research-based models: Action Research and Design Thinking.
