Session description
Purpose & objective
Learning Intention
You will learn about how a regional system built a sustainable, innovative online program to provide equitable access to learning for all its students.
Success Criteria - at the end of the session learners will be able to:
* explain how the Virtual School Network (ViSN) operates and how you can apply this to your own context
* explain how ViSN provides access to equitable learning opportunities for students
* explain how ViSN provides different modes of work access for its educators
* how ViSN has become a sustained innovation which continues to be agile in providing opportunities that meet the challenges of the everchanging educational landscape.
Outline
Engage with an interactive device-based game on Western Australia to set the scene about our unique educational environment.
Watch a short looping video which shows ViSN in action.
Explore Catholic Education Western Australia's (CEWA) Virtual School Network (ViSN) - the reasons for its inception, its history, how it is uniquely operated, its data story, its stakeholders: students; Principals; teachers; mentors; parents; alumni - via the use of a digital "Choose your own Journey" activity.
Speak with Kylie and Peggy to discover how intentional design and systemic thinking have enabled ViSN to create a low-cost, scalable, and engaging online learning environment.
Provide Feedback about what you heard/saw/discussed/learnt using the 3-2-1 technique through Microsoft Forms - 3. Three things you learned in the session 2. Two things you can immediately implement in your own work 3. One lingering question you have.
Prepare to be inspired by the possibilities for dynamic futures where learners, teachers and leaders can thrive.
