Morgan Bible is the Technology Integration Specialist and Title I coordinator at Charles R. Drew Middle School in Lincoln, AL. This is her 5th year in education, she previously taught Algebra and Computer Science. She is also the Tech Team supervisor, and Character Council Advisor for her school. This is her 2nd time presenting at ISTE, she has also presented at Cognia, and within her school district.

Hi! My name is Shannon Hill, Assistant Principal at Charles R. Drew Middle School. Through my journey as an educator, I have been truly blessed with many opportunities to grow as an educator. My career in education began in 2004 in Talladega County Schools. My professional experience includes serving on the STEM Team for the district, working as a reading specialist for 3 years, Technology Integration Specialist/DLP Coach for one year before starting my career in administration. I have had the privilege to present at ISTE, AETC, STEMcon, and many other conferences state and nationwide.

Session description

Join us as we look at building STEM powered classrooms from the view of an administrator and coach. Participants will gain practical strategies, best practices, and be equipped with the resources necessary for infusing STEM across all content areas, and empowering learners to be the innovators of tomorrow.

Purpose & objective

Purpose: The presentation aims to increase awareness of the value of STEM integration in education by highlighting its benefits for students' critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, and career readiness. It provides practical strategies, examples, and resources for educators to implement STEM integration effectively across disciplines. Additionally, it addresses common challenges and fosters collaboration among participants to promote successful STEM integration initiatives in educational settings.

Objective 1: Increase understanding of the benefits and importance of STEM integration:
Educate participants about the value of integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education across disciplines.
Highlight the benefits of STEM integration in fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, and innovation among students.
Communicate the relevance of STEM integration in preparing students for future careers and addressing real-world challenges.

Objective 2: Provide practical strategies and resources for implementing STEM integration:
Share effective pedagogical approaches, instructional strategies, and curriculum design principles for integrating STEM across disciplines.
Offer practical examples and case studies of successful STEM integration initiatives.
Provide participants with resources, tools, and frameworks to help them design and implement integrated STEM activities in their own educational settings.

Objective 3: Address challenges and promote collaboration in STEM integration:
Discuss common challenges and barriers to STEM integration, such as curriculum alignment, teacher professional development, and resource allocation.
Facilitate discussions on strategies and solutions for overcoming these challenges and fostering collaboration among educators and stakeholders.
Promote networking and the exchange of ideas among participants to encourage ongoing support and collaboration in implementing STEM integration initiatives
