When you can say that learning happens best through the construction of knowledge is more important than delivery of content, then you identify with the teaching philosophy of Dr. Al Pajak. Learning is a consequence of curiosity. In his dissertation, he explored the holistic connections between science, technology, math, engineering, history, and empathy in order to lead 5th grade students to discover the stories within our past. Using over 45 3D-printed historical artifacts, history became tangible and the people of history real. He views experience as the best education. Knowledge unsiloed is purpose revealed.

Session description

As artificial intelligence permeates education, how does the concept of "Intellectual Property" change? Participants become as curators of "ARTificial," a new art gallery of Ai artwork emulating the "masters" ranging from the Renaissance to modern Street Art. After an opening celebration, Ai and intellectual property are explored. Resources provided.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this workshop is to provide educators with exposure, exploration, and understanding of how intellectual property and creativity related to images generated by artificial intelligence impact education.

The objectives include:
* Understanding of Ai image generation
* Creativity through Ai image generation
* Discussion and exploration of intellectual property and Ai.

All images in the workshop were created using the Adobe Express text to image generator. The discussion of intellectual property and Ai will be driven by inquiry. A set of articles and links will be provided to the participants along with access to the resources necessary to recreate the workshop for students. Success of the workshop will be measured first through formative questions and answers during the activity and discussion and summatively through a survey and written reflections.
