In her 30th year, she has created and presented district-wide Mindfulness Professional Development and serves as a leader on the SEL Core District Team. Dubbed “Green Screen Gal”, Erika shares her passions through professional development and online courses. She has hosted webinars for Wakelet, WeVideo, Adobe, and presented in educational summits, podcasts, and LIVE webinars. Erika also hosted the Green Screen Summit in July 2021 and recently was featured on the cover of the of Ed Tech K12 Magazine.

Dr. John Wick is the principal of a Catholic TK-8th grade school in just North of Los Angeles California. He has served for 14 years in education leading schools and teaching courses that range from Studio arts to Middle school Science. Having taught students in every grade from Kindergarten to 8th grade He targets his leadership and instruction based upon the developmental level of the students. He has worked as the director of education for a neuroeducation startup company and desires to help all teachers and students succeed.

Join us on a journey into the world of AI, where we showcase its wonders from the four Hogwarts houses. Explore the artistry of AI, stay ahead of the trends, harness AI for social-emotional learning, and introduce AI to your students through innovative programs.

Purpose & objective

Purpose:
The purpose of our presentation is to empower educators with the knowledge and skills to harness the potential of AI in the classroom. We aim to provide practical insights and strategies that participants can immediately implement in their educational settings. By infusing AI artistry, trends, social-emotional learning, and innovative programs, we seek to help educators unlock the enchanting possibilities of AI for enhanced student engagement and learning outcomes.

Objectives (Participant Outcomes):

AI Artistry: Participants will gain an understanding of how AI can be used to enhance creativity and artistry in education. They will be able to identify opportunities to incorporate AI-generated art and visual content into their curriculum.

AI Trends: Educators will stay ahead of the curve by exploring the latest trends and advancements in AI technology. They will be equipped with knowledge about cutting-edge tools and applications relevant to the classroom.

Social-Emotional Learning: Participants will learn how AI can be leveraged to promote SEL in students. They will acquire strategies to use AI-driven resources to foster empathy, understanding, and emotional growth.

Innovative Programs: Educators will discover innovative programs and tools such as Canva and AI for Oceans that introduce AI concepts to students in an engaging manner. They will be able to incorporate these programs into their lesson plans to spark curiosity and teach the foundations of AI.

Educational Challenge/Situation:
The educational challenge we address is the need for educators to adapt to rapidly evolving technology and engage students effectively in the digital age. The challenge lies in integrating AI seamlessly into the curriculum to enhance student learning while ensuring inclusivity and equity.

Technology Intervention:
We leverage various AI tools and programs, including Midjourney for creative AI applications and AI for Oceans for educational purposes. These tools help educators incorporate AI into their teaching practices effectively.

Models Employed:
We employ a model of technology integration in education that combines AI artistry, trend awareness, SEL, and innovative programs. These models emphasize a holistic approach to AI integration in the classroom, ensuring that both teachers and students benefit.

Lesson Plans/Instructional Activities/Strategies:
Our presentation includes practical demonstrations and hands-on activities that allow participants to explore AI applications firsthand. These activities are designed to be interactive and engaging, encouraging participants to experiment with AI tools and brainstorm ways to integrate them into their curriculum.

Evidence of Success:
While we won't have long-term data during the presentation, we will provide anecdotal evidence of success by sharing examples of how educators have successfully implemented AI in their classrooms and the positive impact it has had on student engagement and learning outcomes. We will also encourage participants to share their experiences and insights, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Additionally, we will provide resources for ongoing support and follow-up to track the implementation and measure success post-presentation.
