Objectives/Evidence of Success:
The workshop's objectives are structured based on the KUD Model, which clearly defines what administrators will know, understand, and be able to do after completing the workshop. This model also serves as a guide for administrators to work collaboratively with teachers and measure their progress. Through the workshop, administrators will gain an in-depth knowledge of effective strategies for collaborative leadership, teacher empowerment, and technology integration innovation (Know). They will also develop a deep understanding of the principles and skills required to create personalized professional development plans and support teachers in achieving technology standards (Understand). Ultimately, administrators will be fully equipped to put their knowledge and skills into practice, taking tangible steps towards creating an inclusive learning environment that embraces diverse backgrounds and perspectives among their teaching staff (Do).
1. Understanding: Administrators will gain a better understanding of effective strategies for collaborative leadership, teacher empowerment, and innovative technology integration within their educational institutions.
2. Skills and Knowledge: Attendees will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to create personalized professional development plans tailored to their teaching staff's needs and to support teachers in achieving technology standards.
3. Actionable Implementation: Administrators will be better equipped to take practical steps to create an inclusive learning environment that reflects diverse backgrounds and perspectives among their teaching staff.
Educational Challenge/Situation:
Administrators face the challenge of effectively leading technology integration to enhance teaching and learning in the dynamic educational landscape. The challenge lies in creating a collaborative environment where administrators can empower teachers in technology adoption and foster innovation.
Technology Intervention:
Our workshop uses technology tools and resources to address these challenges effectively. This includes collaboration platforms and interactive online tools for professional learning.
During the workshop, participants will learn to create a mock online community platform as part of an example activity. Administrators will join the forum and engage in discussions, resource sharing, and collaborative activities. Through role-playing scenarios, they will learn how to respond to teacher inquiries, initiate conversations, and encourage knowledge sharing within the online community as community facilitators. This hands-on experience will help them understand how such a community can support professional growth.
Models Employed:
We will employ a collaborative leadership model where administrators work together to foster an innovative culture within their educational institutions. Additionally, we emphasize a continuous improvement model, promoting ongoing learning and adaptation in response to evolving educational technology trends.
1. Instructional Coaching Model: Administrators will explore one-on-one coaching sessions with teachers to enhance their technology integration skills. They will acquire effective coaching strategies and communication techniques to support teachers in achieving their professional development goals.
2. Innovation Incubator Model: Participants will discover how to establish innovation hubs within educational institutions, allowing teachers to experiment with new technologies and teaching methods. Administrators will learn to set up and manage these hubs, nurturing a culture of innovation and experimentation.
These models align with the workshop's focus on collaborative leadership and continuous improvement, offering administrators various strategies to empower teachers in technology integration and encourage innovation within their institutions.
Lesson Plans or Instructional Activities/Strategies Employed:
Participants may engage in interactive activities to design personalized professional development plans tailored to the needs and interests of their teaching staff while integrating technology standards. Inclusive discussions explore the importance of diversity in technology integration, emphasizing the value of diverse voices and perspectives in education.
