Chay Ross is a Multifaceted Creative/Teaching Artist born and raised within the inland cities of South Bay and South Los Angeles, California. Ross is currently in her 13th year at Simon Tech (17th year in education), teaching a well-versed index of courses, including Commercial Art, Yearbook Publication, and Advanced Placement Art & Design with a heavy emphasis on literacy, technology, culture & identity, and contemporary social issues. In her spare time, she enjoys creating jewelry, zen doodling, listening to controversial podcasts, analyzing select hip-hop music, and quad skating.

Session description

Get an introduction to Adobe Express and learn how to creatively develop personalized chronicles and/or academic narratives using online digital-media video-editing software.

Purpose & objective

Purpose: The purpose of the program is to provide teachers with an opportunity to survey cloud-based digital media and acquire modern storytelling techniques. These techniques will enable them to engage secondary students in developing 21st-century creative, technological, and social-emotional literacy skills.

Objectives & Outcomes: By participating in the session, teachers will:
Gain familiarity with cloud-based digital media: Teachers will survey various cloud-based digital media platforms and tools, becoming acquainted with their features and functionalities. This will broaden their understanding of modern storytelling techniques and enhance their technological literacy.
