Colby, a passionate educator with nine years of experience, has honed his expertise across various facets of the educational landscape. He spent six years teaching Social Studies at the secondary level, while also serving as an educational technology coach in his school. Currently, he serves as a Digital Learning Specialist and Instructional Coaching Specialist at the district level, empowering educators to leverage technology to elevate teaching and learning experiences. Colby is a Canva Teacher Canvassador, Wakelet Ambassador, Google Certified Coach, and has a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

Our focus will not only be on amplifying teacher proficiency in Canva, but also on empowering students to harness Canva for vibrant visual communication. Get ready to unleash creativity in your classroom.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this session is to empower educators and students to create vibrant visual content for diverse learning needs. Seeing some of the advanced tips and tricks in Canva, teachers will be able to unleash a new level of creativity in their classrooms. By the end of this session, participants will:
-Understand how to use Canva's advanced features for creating engaging classroom materials
-Be able to guide students in creating their own visual content
-Be able to use Canva's built-in AI tools
-Have practice creating various content types

In today's digital age, visual literacy is as important as textual literacy. However, not all teachers and students are equipped with the skills to create engaging visual content. Canva is a user friendly design platform that can bridge this gap. Its features are easy to use, yet powerful enough to create high-quality designs.

Demonstration of Canva Features and Begin Project Creation (40 minutes)
