Session description
Purpose & objective
In a globalized world, fostering tolerance and respect for differences is crucial. Our project centers on Mexico's Historical Monuments, which serve as rich cultural expressions and historical storytellers. Through art, children develop various intelligences: linguistic, spatial, musical, and logical-mathematical. Each child selected a beloved historical monument, crafted a replica, justified their choice, and reflected on cultural diversity and respect. They brought their creations to life in augmented reality, sharing their cultural insights. Storytelling united their learning journey, allowing them to express their newfound knowledge. They discovered the value of respecting other cultures and the power of art in building bridges of understanding. Our presentation aims to:
Showcase how they learned to respect cultural diversity through their AR art pieces.
Share their learning journey, highlighting their favorite parts, enjoyments, and challenges.
Emphasize how art, storytelling, and augmented reality can facilitate learning about complex topics
Outline
Students will share with the audience their experience, how they built them, what they liked the most, what they learned, the challenges they faced and their learning process. The audience will be able to participate by listening to them and interacting with their physical and AR creations, asking questions to broaden the perspective of the project and sharing ideas to leverage the experience and learning.
Time - each participant will be able to stay as long as they want in the stand, but kids will take about 5-10 minutes explaining how they build the project, the challenges, what they liked the most, sharing ideas and talking about what they learned.
