Session description

Explore AI integration in classrooms serving predominantly Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students. Delve into AI-guided grading, thought-partnering for essay writing, and scaffolding strategies. Learn how AI enhances equity and learning outcomes in marginalized communities.

Purpose & objective

Our presentation aims to address the educational challenges faced in a predominantly Hispanic and economically disadvantaged school district, like Harlandale Independent School District of San Antonio, TX. We focus on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to bridge gaps in educational equity, foster student empowerment, and facilitate data-driven instruction. The purpose is to equip educational leaders, educators, and students with practical knowledge and strategies for effective AI integration, aligned with ISTE Standards.

The educational challenge is reducing learning gaps and providing equitable educational opportunities for students from diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

AI-driven tools like ChatGPT for grading and feedback, Grammarly for writing enhancement, and chatbots for providing immediate assistance to students during writing and learning processes.
