Virtual learning has been a successful educational experience for students pre-pandemic. Teachers from Dwight Global Online School share how a virtual lesson can be designed for student success and effectively implementation.

The 1 hour session will begin with examples of both middle school and high school virtual math lessons from experienced educators. The session will feature key tech tools that teachers can implement to foster engagement, collaboration and reflection, and assess student learning during a virtual lesson. The session will allow attendees to participate in a live virtual lesson to experience these tech tools firsthand.

Presenters will also share how to streamline the planning process and how to effectively scaffold to create personalized learning experiences. The session will conclude with the successes of student learning, as well as best practices of implementation in a digital learning environment.

Process:

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a live virtual lesson from a student perspective. The session will also involve opportunities for peer-to-peer interaction, where attendees obtain an opportunity for guided practice and questioning that encourage students to drive their own learning. Through the use of Google Apps for Education (Slides/Forms/Jamboard), Peardeck, and Desmos, students use technology to respond to teacher questions, and prompts, engage in collaboration, and reflect on their own learning.
