Session description

Join this engaging workshop, 'AI Didn't Know That,' designed for teachers eager to explore AI's potential in education. I'll demystify AI terminology, showcase generative AI tools, and unveil the magic of Magicschool.ai. This session will ROCK your teaching world!

Purpose & objective

Purpose:
The workshop aims to introduce teachers to the practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, focusing on tools like ChatGPT, Bard, Claude, Magicschool.ai, Conkers.ai, and similar resources. Participants will explore these tools hands-on and discover how AI can optimize their teaching processes, ultimately saving time and enhancing classroom experiences.

Objectives - Participant Outcomes:

AI Familiarity: Participants will gain a better understanding of AI concepts, terminology, and its potential impact on education.

Tool Exploration: Teachers will explore ChatGPT, Bard, Claude, Magicschool.ai, Conkers.ai, and similar tools, understanding their functionalities and potential applications.

Demonstrations: Through live demos, participants will witness practical uses of these AI tools in lesson planning, content creation, and classroom engagement.

Hands-on Experience: Teachers will have hands-on experience using the tools to create or adapt educational content, fostering confidence in integrating AI into their teaching practices.

Time Optimization: Participants will learn how AI tools can streamline tasks, saving time on lesson planning, grading, and administrative duties.

Integration Strategies: Teachers will develop strategies to seamlessly integrate AI resources into their curriculum, enhancing both in-person and virtual teaching environments.

Educational Challenge:
Teachers face the challenge of time constraints in lesson planning, adapting materials, and addressing individual student needs. The workshop addresses this challenge by introducing AI tools that can automate certain tasks, allowing educators to focus more on personalized instruction.

Technology Intervention:
The workshop features hands-on exploration of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Bard , Claude (demonstrating prompt writing intended for teachers), Magicschool.ai (designed especially for educators), Conkers.ai (for personalizing assessments as well as differentiating those assessments), and similar resources tailored to educational contexts.

Lesson Plans/Activities/Strategies:

Introduction to AI in Education: Overview of AI concepts and its potential impact on teaching.
Tool Exploration Stations: Hands-on exploration of ChatGPT, Bard, Claude, Magicschool.ai, Conkers.ai, etc.
Live Demonstrations: Practical demonstrations of AI tools applied to lesson planning, content creation, and collaboration.
Interactive Session: Participants engage in discussions on effective integration strategies and share insights.
Evidence of Success:
Success will be measured through participant feedback, gauging their confidence in using AI tools, perceived time savings, and the development of personalized strategies for integrating AI into their teaching practices. Additionally, anecdotal evidence from participants sharing successful AI-integrated lessons will be collected.
