Session description

Attendees will learn how to incorporate the usage of a Cricut machine to inspire learning, promote creativity, foster collaboration, and support STEAM education. Attendees will leave with simple project ideas and a project template that can easily be implemented into the classroom across the curriculum.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this session is to assist educators with creating opportunities for students to be creative, build collaboration, and enhance STEAM education. Attendees will be able to leave with beginner skills in using the Design Space for building a prototype and a Cricut Machine (Cricut Joy, Cricut Explore 2 or 3, Cricut Maker 3) to print their prototype. This tool is a cutting machine that can cut various materials to build many different items for learning. Attendees will understand the cost of each machine and program. Attendees will also gain knowledge on how to incorporate this tool into their daily instruction including centers/stations.

As a former Graphic Arts teacher, I am confident that this session will assist with building student morale and allow students to be more creative. Several of my former students have gone on to start their own businesses using this tool and skills gained in my class. My program also assisted with bringing funding to the school to help fund other school wide projects.
