The purpose of our presentation is to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools effectively within teacher teams and PLCs. The session will first focus on processes that strengthen teacher collaboration in teams and PLCs such as reviewing data collectively, setting learner and teacher goals, discussing instructional needs, articulating learning intentions and success criteria, and selecting strategies to test. Next, attendees will learn about AI tools that can support all aspects of the PLC process. These include tools such as:
Google Workspace for Education:
-Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides: Collaborative tools for sharing and editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
-Google Forms: Create surveys and quizzes to collect data and feedback.
-Google Meet: Conduct virtual meetings and discussions.
Microsoft Teams:
-OneNote: Collaboratively take notes, share resources, and organize materials.
Learning Analytics Platforms:
-Tools like Tableau or Power BI can help educators analyze student data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions within PLCs.
Natural Language Processing (NLP) Tools:
-NLP tools like ChatGPT, Grammarly, or Hemingway can aid in improving communication and content creation within PLCs.
Data Dashboards:
-Tools like Klipfolio or Google Data Studio allow educators to visualize and share data with their PLCs for better decision-making.
Collaborative Content Curation Tools:
-Platforms like Wakelet or Padlet enable educators to curate and share resources relevant to their PLC discussions.
These AI tools can enhance communication, collaboration, data analysis, and resource sharing within PLCs, ultimately improving the professional development and effectiveness of educators.
The presentation will employ the model of a guided workshop and interactive discussion. Attendees will actively engage with AI tools and discuss their applications within table groups.
The session will commence by emphasizing processes that enhance teacher collaboration within teams and PLCs. These processes include collectively reviewing data, setting goals for both students and teachers, addressing instructional requirements, articulating learning objectives and criteria for success, and selecting strategies for experimentation.
Subsequently, participants will delve into the realm of AI tools designed to bolster every facet of the PLC process. Practical examples will illustrate these tools in action, showcasing their collaborative potential.
To facilitate deeper engagement, attendees will have the opportunity to explore these tools through a jigsaw-style activity, encouraging questions and discussion as needed. Small-group interactions will allow for the sharing of insights and best practices.
Furthermore, dedicated time will be allocated for table talk discussions and group activities, enabling participants to contemplate how these tools can optimally support their teams.
Concluding the session, we will underscore the significance of knowing how to assess new tools within the PLC process and determining their efficacy in delivering valuable impacts.
