Session description

Google is designed with the basic user in mind. This session will take you from basic to PRO by showing you my favorite Add-ons & Extensions. These are tools I use daily to be more efficient & innovative as an educator and coach. Don't know the difference? I'll show you!

Purpose & objective

This session, presented through Google Slides & PearDeck, will help educators and coaches learn about new tools that may allow them to be more efficient and innovative.

It may include extensions such as Momentum, Grammarly, Awesome Screenshot, Draftback, Mendeley Web Importer, Mote, Extensity, AI-powered extensions, and others. Add-ons may include PearDeck, Nearpod, Stickity, FormMule, and others.

Outline

In this session, I will start with an overview of the difference between add-ons and extensions (including that many may need to seek school or district approval to be able to add them). I will show how to sign in to Chrome and explain why that is best practice, including the pros and cons of using one Chrome account to rule them all or having multiple Chrome accounts (personal, work, grad school, etc.).

I will show how to access the Chrome Web Store (if needed) and then show my favorite extensions, which may include Momentum, Grammarly, Awesome Screenshot, Draftback, Mendeley Web Importer, Mote, Extensity, AI-powered extensions, and others. All extensions will have free options, and I will include information about whether I am a free or paid user for any paid extensions I use.

There will be time throughout for exploration (5 minutes after Add-ons, 5 minutes after Extensions) and at the end for questions. Additionally, the presentation will be shared with attendees.
