Objectives and Participant Outcomes:
Understanding the Role of AI for helping dyslexic and diverse learning needs:
Participants will gain an understanding of how AI tools can be effectively used to support students with dyslexia.
They will be able to identify specific AI applications that are beneficial in special education settings.
Empathy and Awareness:
Educators will develop a deeper empathy and awareness for the challenges faced by dyslexic learners.
They will learn strategies to create a more inclusive classroom environment that acknowledges and supports neuro-diverse students.
Introduction to AI in Education (5 minutes)
Content: Brief overview of AI's role in modern education, with a focus on special education.

Personal Narrative: A Student's Journey with Dyslexia (10 minutes)
Content: A dyslexic student shares their experiences with dyslexia and AI assistance.
Activities: Storytelling session.
Process: Use a storytelling format to foster empathy and engagement.
Educator’s Insight on AI and Inclusive Learning (20 minutes)
Content: Demonstration of various AI tools designed for dyslexic learners. Led by teacher and student
Activities: Live demonstration or video showcasing AI tools.
Process: Allow audience members to ask questions during the demonstration for interactive learning.
Group Activity: Developing Inclusive Strategies (30 minutes)
Content: Brief group activity to brainstorm inclusive teaching strategies using AI.
Activities: Participants form small groups to discuss and share ideas.
Process: Facilitate peer-to-peer interaction and collaborative brainstorming.
Conclusion and Q&A (5 minutes)
Content: Summarize key points and open the floor for questions.
Activities: Final Q&A session.
Process: Encourage participants to ask questions and share insights.
For AI:
This sessions will be taught by using examples from two schools who have been actively at the forefront of this technology using information from UNESCO, The Coming Wave: Technology, Power, and the Twenty-first Century's Greatest by Mustafa Suleyman, AI 2041 by Kai-Fu Lee and Scary Smart by Mo Gawdat. It also includes insights with work done with over 75k educators training them to use AI in their classrooms.
