Dr. Punya Mishra (punyamishra.com) is associate dean of Scholarship & Innovation at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, Arizona State University, where he leads multiple initiatives, providing a future-forward, equity-driven, collaborative approach to educational research. He is internationally recognized for his work in educational technology, creativity, and the application of design to educational innovation. With over $11 million in grants; he is ranked in the top 2% of scientists worldwide and the top 50 scholars (top 10 in psychology) with the biggest influence on educational practice and policy. He is an award-winning instructor, engaging public-speaker and an accomplished visual artist.

Melissa Warr is an Assistant Professor of Learning Design and Technology at New Mexico State University. Her research blends teacher education, design, creativity, and technology. She is currently exploring design perspectives in teaching and teacher education, including what and how teachers learn when they design media for learning. She also studies creative design approaches to helping teachers address problems of practice, including applying creative tools to support teachers in making sense of their practice. Session description

In this lesson, participants will design effective practices for teaching with AI. Grounded in an understanding of the true nature of AI (its generative, conversational and multimodal capabilities) participants will develop a creative yet techno-skeptical mindset through engaging with a set of purposeful strategies based on collaborative exploration and play.
