Session description

In this session we will look at the writing process and consider when and how AI can and can't be used. To do so, I will share two visual and well-designed handouts: 1. "TAPE" - these is a student-facing document that covers four major considerations: transparency, accuracy, process, and expectations of the teacher. I will use this document to help students to understand how they may use text-based GenAI tools. 2. "Setting Expectations: GenAI + Writing" - this second document is more teacher-facing and helps teachers to reflect and consider to what extext they are willing to allow students to use GenAI in their language, ideas, and format of their work. This document goes hand-in-hand with TAPE. Once my expectations with my students has been set, we will use School AI to help us begin outlining our writing task.
