Session description
Join us for an enlightening session where participants will explore the crucial components of effective engagement aimed at fostering meaningful and trusting relationships. This workshop will focus on the dual capacity-building framework, which not only strengthens family partnerships but also significantly reduces chronic absenteeism. Dr. Shadae Harris, the former Chief Engagement Officer at Richmond Public Schools, successfully established their inaugural Office of Engagement and notably decreased chronic absenteeism by nearly 20% during her tenure. Currently, Dr. Harris leads Groundwork Consulting, assisting school districts and organizations nationwide in developing robust engagement systems that prioritize families. She is also a distinguished Professor in Residence at Virginia State University and a founding faculty member of the VSU Engagement Institute.
