Session description
Purpose & objective
Participants will learn about ethical issues regarding creative use of generative AI.
Participants will discuss how to address such concerns without sacrificing the ability to move forward in confidence.
Participants will discover ideas for ensuring AI use in their schools is safe and appropriate, while still promoting creativity and innovation.
Outline
This will be a combination of a presentation and discussion, broaching difficult topics around AI ethics and ownership, and how to broach those topics with students.
We will spend the first 10 minutes providing an overview of the issues at hand, followed about 10 minutes of examples. For each example, we will attempt to dive into the complexities around what students can/should be allowed to do, how they cite it, where the lines are and how to avoid crossing them. The final ten minutes will be spent discussing how to develop policies that empower students in safe and appropriate ways.
