Session description
Why do some student groups receive different outcomes than others? In this session, we will explore risk factors associated with disproportionality in behavioral outcomes for students. What causes these inequities in our system, and more importantly, what can we do today to make things better?
Outline
Introduction - 5 minutes - Setting the stage by exploring the topic of disproportionality.
Mythbusting - 15 minutes - Discussing various myths and causes of disproportionality.
Technology - 5 minutes - What tech can educators use to measure these outcomes to ensure that they are equitable? We will highlight a few ways to do that with various systems.
Q&A - 5 minutes - We invite the group to ask clarifying questions and begin looking at their own school data at the end of the session.
