This is for a 60-minute session, work time and processing will be built in throughout
- Participant Participation - Padlet - What's the relationship between Curriculum and Assessment? Draw, write, or pull a meme from the internet. (5 mins)
-Debrief - Formative and Summative Assessment: Key Elements of a Student-Centered Approach to Curriculum Design (5 mins)
-Purposeful Formative and Pre-Assessment Characteristics and Design - Principles with examples from real classrooms that illustrate principles (snapshots and videos) (20 mins)
-Performance-Based Assessment Characteristics and Design - Principles with examples from real classrooms that illustrate principles (snapshots and videos)(20 mins)
- Participants revisit Padlet and comment about what they would add or change to their original post (OR upload a different meme). (5 min)
- Closure and Encouragement (5 mins)

Along with my colleagues Jay McTighe and Kristina Doubet, I wrote a book for ascd titled "Designing Authentic Performance Tasks and Projects: Tools for Meaningful Learning and Assessment".
