When is ISTELive 21?

ISTELive 21 will be held entirely virtually from Saturday, June 26-Wednesday, June 30, 2021. You can expect a variety of formats, a flexible schedule and hundreds of learning opportunities, with ongoing access to session videos and content for six months after the event.


Why is ISTELive 21 being held virtually?

The health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors and staff is ISTE’s highest priority. Because of the threat from the ongoing pandemic and guided by feedback we’ve gathered from our educator and corporate community, we are moving our ISTELive event to an all virtual format in 2021.

Until it’s safe to meet in person again, we invite you to gather in our custom-built platform where you’ll learn from experts from the field of education and beyond, communicate with each other in real time and access a rich archive of over 1,000 learning experiences that you can return to again and again for six months. ISTELive 21 offers the PD you need to help students conquer the future of learning.


How much does it cost to attend ISTELive 21 and what is the cancellation policy?

Pricing depends on when you register and your ISTE membership status. View pricing and registration option details here. Purchases made through the ISTELive registration site, including ISTELive 21, ISTE U's Summer Learning Academy, and Creative Constructor Lab Virtual registration fees, ISTE membership dues, and any registration bundles are nonrefundable, but they are transferable until June 18, 2021. Contact to initiate transferring your registration and/or membership to another educator. Note that requests made after June 18th, 2021 will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may not be processed before the event start date. Registrants who are unable to participate in the live event will still have access to on-demand and asynchronous content post-events.

Sponsor a colleague funds are nonrefundable.


What if I can't attend the entire event? Will it be recorded?

Most sessions will be recorded, and on-demand videos will be uploaded 24 hours after each session. You can find all on-demand videos on the session pages accessible through the program search. On-demand content will be available for six months after the event.


How long will the on-demand content be available?

On-demand content will be available for six months after the event on the ISTELive 21 platform.


Can I get a certificate of attendance for participating in ISTELive 21?

Yes, a certificate of attendance will be available to all registrants after the event that lists the sessions attended live or viewed on-demand.


Can I earn CEUs or grad credit for attending ISTELive 21?

You may be able to earn CEU credit for attending ISTELive 21. You should reach out to your district or state Department of Education to find out how to secure CEU’s, then, post-conference, use the certificate of attendance that we’ll provide to claim your credits. Learn more here. Your conference hours are not automatically eligible for CEU hours. Please reach out to your state before the conference to ensure you can obtain your hours.

Graduate-level credits are available from the University of San Diego and Dominican University of California. Learn more here, then enroll in the program that best fits your needs.


I submitted a proposal to present at ISTELive 21. What are my next steps?

The ISTE program team will send acceptance and regret notifications via email and update the status of your proposal on your presenter menu in February. Contact if you have questions about a session proposal.


When can I see the full program?

Program details will be available in late February. Seats cannot be saved for individual sessions.


Will closed captioning be available during sessions?

Live English and Spanish closed captioning is offered for all mainstage sessions and live English captions on select sessions each day. All recordings will have English captions. Should you attend a session that does not offer captioning we have several recommendations: We recommend using Chrome universally for the ISTELive 21 platform and streaming platform on desktop or laptop but it has now also launched captioning across its browser. Below are instructions for enabling Chrome captions. Must be using Chrome version 84.0.4136.2 or higher.

  1. Go to chrome://flags/#enable-accessibility-live-captions in your Chrome browser window and find the "Live Caption" option. On the drop down box that says "Default" to the right of the Live Caption listing, click and select "Enabled".
  2. Next, go to chrome://settings/accessibility in your Chrome browser window. At the top where is says "Live Caption", toggle that functionality on.
  3. You’ll need to close down and relaunch the Chrome browser for this functionality to appear. A black box with captioning should now automatically appear when a video is streaming with sound. This box can be moved around the screen to any location you choose.
If you are unable to use Chrome, we recommend using Web Captioner in a separate browser window for captioning of live sessions. All session recordings will have closed captions.


I have credit from ISTE20. How do I use it?
