I am a middle school technology coordinator & creative technology teacher at Longs Peak Middle School for Graphic Design, iPad Art, Sketchnoting, & Digital Illustration in SVVSD- a 1:1 iPad district in Northern Colorado.

Session description

Learn to engage all students in mindfulness & the creative process no matter their artistic skill level by leveraging tools available in common art apps & using aspects of social/emotional learning. Participants will see how tech tools can increase engagement levels to 100% and help students feel successful with creative tasks.

Purpose & objective

Participants will leave with multiple ideas and lesson plans in image form as well as linked in resources for how to include creative tasks into their classrooms including multiple project ideas related to social emotional learning. Participants will see evidence of increased engagement and learning by students because of the access to the undo button in creative apps. Model lessons feature student work using iPad, Sketches Pro App, and Logitech Crayon stylus pens, but those are not required tools for digital creativity.
