Blended Learning Coach
Buncombe County Schools
Hello! My name is Amanda Hoffman. I am a Blended Learning Coach for Buncombe County Schools, which is located in Asheville, NC. I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Literacy. I have been in education for 12 years now and have taught several grade levels in the K-5 span. My passion is to support students and teachers in finding their voice and feeling successful everyday in their teaching and learning journey.

Session description

Have students embrace their vocabulary learning through creative expression using Canva, Google Drawings, and Book Creator. Allowing students to play with language and make authentic connections provides a personalized, creative learning experience. Increase student engagement with higher order thinking activities by having students build and demonstrate understanding with these platforms.

Purpose & objective

Educators will learn how to use Canva, Google Drawings, and Book Creator, focused specifically on the creative tools and features that allow for expression.

Educators will create vocabulary focused activities and templates within these programs to support higher order thinking.
