Academic Technology Coordinator
Brandi Bergeron is a 26th year veteran educator. Throughout her career, she has served as a classroom teacher, elementary and high school librarian, and district academic technology coordinator. She has master's degree in instructional technology which led her to the path of presenting and training teachers on how to authentically integrate technology into the classroom. With a focus on technology creation vs consumption, she has worked with teachers and librarians to help them step out of the traditional teaching box and into a new era of technology integration.
Instructional Technology Consultant
Jessie recently retired from Grand Forks Public Schools and is now consulting, coaching, and providing professional learning facilitation and training. Prior to retirement, Jessie served the students and teachers at Grand Forks School Districts as the District Assessment Coordinator and K12 Curriculum-Technology Integrationist. In total, serving over three decades as a K12 educator in varied roles within the Grand Forks Schools.
Jessie is the President of the North Dakota Association of Technology Leaders (ISTE Affiliate) and an ISTE Community Leader. Jessie has been a Podcast guest speaker and has published articles and Blog Posts highlighting teaching and learning with technology.
Cathy Houchin has been teaching for over 42 years. As an elementary music teacher, Cathy loves infusing technology into her classes. She has presented at many conferences including ISTE, FETC, SLATE, TEAC,MACUL and WMEA. For many years, Cathy volunteered with ISTE'S Art and Technology PLN and served in many capacities including president. Currently, she is semi-retired and teaching part-time for the district's eCampus as a special
coordinator.
Educational Technology Coach
Rita Mortenson is the Educational Technology Coach for Verona Area High School, in Verona, Wisconsin. She is an ISTE Certified Educator, Discovery Education Leadership Council Member, Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Innovator, and is a National Board Certified Teacher with an MBA Degree. She enjoys working and collaborating with staff and students to create opportunities for all.

Are you eager to provide experiences for your students? Do you want to jazz up your units? Discover engaging, ready to use virtual field trips that can build background knowledge, create immersive experiences and differentiate instruction and much more. Join us for a high energy, fast-paced session.
Purpose & objective
This session is meant to provide an inclusive experience that celebrates multiple points of view, exposes learners to a larger global community, and opens the classroom world. We believe diversity drives innovation and builds a culture where difference is valued. The purpose is to provide educators with resources for free field trips that can be used to build background, elevate content, and give students access to a global view. Educators will explore virtual environments that will help students to learn, immerse, and build empathy using multimedia tools and resources that can be used in a variety of curricular areas, helping students to make connections to what they already know.
