There are endless opportunities to use technology in early childhood classrooms - even if you have only one or two devices. Why not allow these devices to be used at school to transform teaching and learning? This workshop will focus on ways to use technology with small groups and whole-class instruction. Activities will include augmented reality, formative assessment tools, creation projects, and much more. The focus will not be on the device but on the process and the product! We will explore using iPads, Chromebooks, and other devices for small group activities and we will talk about the classroom with limited devices. Exemplary, interactive activities will be correlated to address multiple ISTE standards. The attendees will be introduced to tech tools and apps so that young students become engaged and excited about the lessons in the classroom. Activities that are shared will allow students to use technology every day to access information, make decisions, and express creativity. Participants in the workshop will experience activities that can easily be replicated in multiple subject areas and grade levels. Participants will have access to an online document with instructions and examples. When teachers create dynamic learning communities within their classrooms, the impact on instructional practice is immediate and rewarding.
