Purpose & objective
Purpose: Participants will reflect on the purpose of a virtual Professional Learning Community and best practices for leading a successful PLC that prioritizes authentic relationships and application of ideas.
Objectives:
-Participants can explain situations in which a virtual PLC is a strong professional learning model
-Participants can list at least three strategies for building trust and relationships within a virtual PLC
-Participants will reflect on ways to structure and effectively facilitate a virtual PLC in their context
Outline
These are topics I envision sharing in the poster presentation and in conversations with participants who drop in:
-When is a virtual PLC a strong option
-Ways to advertise and enlist participants in your virtual PLC
-Key tactics for facilitators to ensure a safe, collaborative space: identifying purpose, entering with authenticity, establishing norms
-Ways to build trust within a virtual space
-Structures for facilitating small group discussions
-Ensuring the focus stays on application and solutions
