Session description
CTE programs are crucial as the labor market changes, and with the rising cost of higher education offering varied pathways to students can pave the way to successful career navigation.
With the skills divide only getting wider as technology evolves our team will look at ways to help teachers adapt their curriculum to address the needs of an evolving workforce with the students of today.
This forum will bring leaders together to share and learn ways in which integrating the ISTE Standards for Adults can help schools design dynamic and engaging CTE practices.
Purpose & objective
CTE programming is using left until the final year of High School and as such, doesn't provide a lot of time or resources to educators. This session will bring together educators to explore digital skills and technology’s role in CTE training by exploring success stories from the field, ways in which ISTE can complement curriculum by providing real world work training and the skills needed to successfully explore a pathway to work or further education. This will be an interactive session where working together we will design and explore fun ways to bring workforce into the classroom.
At the end of this session participants will have more ideas and concrete resources gathered from the field to fill their digital toolbox.
