Purpose & objective

Detailed Overview
Purpose:

The primary purpose of this presentation is to educate and equip educators with the knowledge and skills needed to create and integrate chatbots into their educational settings, thereby enhancing the learning experience and making it more interactive.

Objectives (Participant Outcomes):

Understanding Chatbots: Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of what chatbots are and how they can be applied in educational settings.

Skill Development: Participants will learn the basic skills needed to create a chatbot, including coding essentials and design elements.

Integration Skills: Participants will learn how to integrate chatbots into their existing educational platforms, like websites or Learning Management Systems.

Evaluation of Effectiveness: Participants will learn how to collect data and measure the efficacy of chatbot interactions, thereby making data-informed decisions for future deployments.

Educational or Infrastructure Challenge/Situation:

Many educational settings still rely on traditional methods of engagement, which may not cater to the learning needs of all students. The challenge is to make education more interactive, personalized, and accessible.

Technology Intervention:

We will be using platforms like "Dialogflow" and "Chatfuel" for hands-on exercises. These platforms offer user-friendly interfaces for chatbot development and are not widely known in the educational community.

Models Employed:

We will adopt a blended learning model that combines short lectures with hands-on activities. This method ensures that theoretical knowledge is immediately supplemented by practical application.

Lesson Plans or Instructional Activities/Strategies:
Introduction to Chatbots: Brief lecture and interactive discussion.
Hands-On Training: Small group activities using Dialogflow and Chatfuel for creating simple chatbots.
Integration Exercise: A walkthrough on embedding the created chatbot into a website.
Data Analytics: Brief lecture on tools to track chatbot interactions and effectiveness.

Evidence of Success:
Hands-on Project: Participants will walk away with a simple, working chatbot, demonstrating immediate skill acquisition.

By the end of the session, participants will not only be equipped with the skills to create a chatbot but also possess the understanding of how to meaningfully integrate this technology into their teaching.
