Session description

Our children are frequently engaged with technology at school and at home. Some parents, who are not familiar with the digital tools required to support their children, can feel ill equipped to support their learners. Therefore, it is vital to facilitate the development of digital literacy skills and resilience.

Purpose & objective

To support parents who may be overwhelmed and ill equipped to support their children with learning that is technology enabled, participants in this session will explore profiles of some parents who need support, identify resources to help practitioners understand those adult learners, engage with open educational resources to help with parent’s growth, and consider next steps to support the capacity building of parents.
