Laura Beckham is a former middle school social studies teacher and is in her 12th year as a Digital Learning Coach. One of Laura’s favorite parts of her job is helping teachers and students find transformative ways to use technology in the classroom. She is an Apple Learning Coach, Google for Education Certified Trainer and Coach and has served as a Schoology Ambassador and a Common Sense Media Ambassador. She has presented about digital formative assessment and blended learning at the local, state, and national levels.

Dr. Dee Pukl is a former high school science teacher and instructional coach. She is in her third year as a Digital Learning Coach. Dee is an Apple Learning Coach. Dee’s favorite part of her job is helping teachers realize that failing forward is part of the journey and with support, everyone has the opportunity to experience growth. She has presented on Personalized Learning at the local, state, and regional levels.

Session description

Join 2 digital learning coaches to discuss 5 steps to creating your coaching identity. Coaches will talk about entry points, relationships, coaching roles, coaching culture, and organizing your coaching life. They will also address how coaching work maximizes student growth and support of the school and district work plan.

Purpose & objective

This presentation is designed for teacher leaders, instructional coaches, or instructional coach supervisors. In the ever-evolving world of education, it is essential that technology coaches establish positive relationships both within and outside of their building. The goal of this presentation is to prepare teacher leaders and instructional coaches with the necessary tools to create positive relationships and impact student outcomes with impactful coaching. Participants will walk away with strategies to enhance coaching relationships with coaching entry points. Presenters will also share tools for establishing coaching relationships with teachers, administration, and other coaches. Participants will receive a customizable coaching tool kit that has a focus on data-driven conversations and meeting the needs of the adult learners to enhance the experience of students. The presenters will engage participants using Canva, G Suite Products, Turn-and-Talk protocols, and embed research into presentation.
