As the Chief Academic Officer in the St. Vrain Valley School District, Diane directs the academic supports for 33,000 students and professional learning for 4,500+ personnel. She has experience as teacher, principal and executive leader. Diane maintains a relentless focus on student success, seeking possibilities, and removing barriers so that each and every child develops a strong competitive advantage. Her greatest passion is the St. Vrain "grow your own" teacher pathway program called P-TEACH which currently provides 37 credits towards a bachelor's degree in education, at no cost, to high school students and St. Vrain classified staff.

Session description

Dive into a dynamic journey where educators explore generative AI tools through gamified challenges. From planning weekend getaways to innovative formative assessments, this session inspires innovation and reflective pedagogy!

Purpose & objective

This presentation aims to introduce educators to a culture of innovation and professional growth through a gamified learning experience centered on AI tools.

Participants will explore and experiment with AI tools via an AI-centric Bingo game, set professional learning goals, and reflect on their pedagogical approaches. The program addresses the challenge of integrating rapidly advancing technologies by using a structured yet flexible gamified platform. It employs gamification and reflective practice models, utilizing scenario-based learning and digital journals for reflection. Evidence of success includes increased engagement and positive feedback, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness in enhancing educators’ skills and fostering a culture of innovation.
