Session description

Join us as we delve into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and discover practical applications that can transform your teaching experience. We will explore the ways in which AI tools can be used to enhance the classroom, simplify lesson planning, and provide effective student feedback.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of this presentation is to show educators how AI tools can assist with the day to day activities required of teachers that often take up more time than teaching! Lesson planning, planning PBLs, grading, providing individual feedback, creating quizzes and tests, and coming up with new and engaging ideas take up a majority of a teacher's day. Instead, teachers can use the power of AI to assist them with these tasks so that they can spend more time teaching and working with students. The feedback provided by theses tools will allow educators to quickly assess the individual needs of their learners so that they can then work to meet those needs.

Specific tools that will be recommended and addressed throughout the presentation are ChatGPT, Brisk Teaching (Chrome extension) and MagicSchool. The presentation will not only give teachers access to these tools, but will show real life ways that these tools have been used in secondary classrooms at Winterboro High School.
