Dr. Deanna Goodrich is the Manager for Statewide and Strategic Partnerships in Denver, CO. She has worked in education for over 10 years in many roles, including a high school teacher, Dean of Culture, District Coordinator, and Middle School Assistant Principal.

Sondra Osif is a passionate program manager with a strong background in the education industry. Currently leading the Early Career Exploration team at Denver Public Schools, she designs and implements extensive career exploration programs for middle and elementary schools. Sondra fosters partnerships with local businesses & organizations to bring the world of work to the K-8 students at DPS. Previously, she spent eight years as the Program Director for Young AmeriTowne at Young Americans Center for Financial Education. There, she excelled in curriculum development, technology integration, and staff training. Sondra's career is marked by a steadfast commitment to empowering students through innovative educational initiatives.

Session description

We invite all students, no matter the grade level, to begin exploring skill development and career opportunities. Learn about Denver Public Schools’ early career exploration models for Elementary and Middle Schools, and the integration of Discovery Education for free resources.

Purpose & objective

Participants will be able to find and navigate free career and technical education digital content to share and use immediately in the classroom with students.

Participants will develop knowledge of digital content and resources to support all students in the classroom regarding career exploration.

Participants will be able to identify career and technical education strategies to use to in both elementary and secondary levels.

Participants will be able to share and integrate ideas and strategies from innovative practices that Denver Public Schools has implemented at both the elementary and secondary levels to support career and technical education exploration.
