Purpose & objective
Purpose:
This session is going to focus on how easy it can be to utilize podcasting with your students and how to turn that opportunity into an awesome assessment tool. Participants will be shown how to create a podcast and how to grade a podcast. Participants will also work through what topics might be good to try this and how podcasting could potentially be used for communication and showcasing student work. Participants will also be given rubrics that can be used when looking at podcast for assessment. Participants will also brainstorm ideas collectively and individually for different ways to include students from diverse backgrounds and cultural perspectives.
Outline
Content will be presented and participants will be engaged using using active and engaged learning environment characteristics of collaborative, authentic, and constructive learning, peer-to peer interaction, and device-based activities for brainstorming and idea sharing.
