Journey with us to debunk popular misconceptions in the EdTech world. This session will investigate widely-believed myths surrounding AI, AR/VR, 3D printing, Maker spaces, and more. Learn why these misconceptions exist, uncover the realities behind them, and harness the potential of EdTech in transformative ways for your classroom!

Purpose & objective

Attendees will:

Understand common myths surrounding major EdTech topics.
Learn the factual basis behind these misconceptions.
Acquire strategies to implement these technologies effectively in their classrooms.

Outline

Introduction (5 mins): Presentation of the "Mythbusters" theme and objective.
Mythbusting (50 minutes): The bulk of the time will be spent rotating through the various presenters as they share their myth, talk about the history of it, and then describe the reality around it. Each section will conclude with strategies for moving forward productively, avoiding the challenges that the myths foster.
Conclusion (5 mins): Summarization, and encouragement to apply newfound knowledge.
