Brady Licht is a learning facilitator, consultant, and designer. Before working as a Learning Specialist with TIE/BHSSC, Brady Licht taught personalized, competency-based courses in a secondary FLEX environment. He participated in South Dakota's Rethinking Educational Models program, and he holds an undergraduate degree in English Education, a master's degree in Technology for Education and Training, and a certificate in User Experience Design. He works with districts, organizations, and government departments to create engaging, flexible learning experiences for a variety of audiences.

Session description

This hands-on session will equip participants with the skills needed to leverage AI tools to efficiently develop microlearning for a wide variety of uses. Following best practices with microlearning, professional developers, leadership and others can utilize AI for rapid content development, needs analysis, scenario-based learning and more.

Purpose & objective

This session addresses the challenge of rapidly developing bite-sized, personalized learning experiences. While microlearning is effective, manual creation is time-intensive. This presentation will introduce automated tools to accelerate microlearning design.

Participants will:
- Understand microlearning benefits and creation challenges
- Learn strategies to leverage automation for faster development
- Gain hands-on practice developing personalized microlearning
- Build skills to iterate microlearning using engagement data

- Opening Activity - Microlearning on Microlearning and AI through 7taps - 5 minutes
- Collaborative Discussion - How have you used AI in your training/L&D strategy? - 5 minutes
- Interactive Demonstration - The Spiral Model of Instructional Design for Microlearning and AI's role within it - 10 minutes
- Guided Creation Time - Participants are guided step-by-step through the creation of one piece of microlearning, using Claude.AI (or another LLM/Generative AI Tool) to rapidly build components - 20+ minutes
- Closing Discussion - Ethical considerations & closing the human/AI loop - 5 minutes
- Q&A as time permits
