This session addresses the challenge of rapidly developing bite-sized, personalized learning experiences. While microlearning is effective, manual creation is time-intensive. This presentation will introduce automated tools to accelerate microlearning design.
Participants will:
- Understand microlearning benefits and creation challenges
- Learn strategies to leverage automation for faster development
- Gain hands-on practice developing personalized microlearning
- Build skills to iterate microlearning using engagement data
- Opening Activity - Microlearning on Microlearning and AI through 7taps - 5 minutes
- Collaborative Discussion - How have you used AI in your training/L&D strategy? - 5 minutes
- Interactive Demonstration - The Spiral Model of Instructional Design for Microlearning and AI's role within it - 10 minutes
- Guided Creation Time - Participants are guided step-by-step through the creation of one piece of microlearning, using Claude.AI (or another LLM/Generative AI Tool) to rapidly build components - 20+ minutes
- Closing Discussion - Ethical considerations & closing the human/AI loop - 5 minutes
- Q&A as time permits
- Microlearning: Short and Sweet by Karl Kapp and Robyn Defelice
