David Cupolo, holds a PhD. & Ed.S in Educational Leadership and is in his 18th year as a school principal. Currently he is principal of St. James Intermediate School which is a new state of the art building, with an open collaborative learning design allowing for student collaboration and engagement. He collaborates globally with international educational researchers, authors, and consultants, in working to transform educational practices to meet the needs of today's learner. As an instructional leader he collaborates with teachers focusing on teacher clarity through fostering student agency leading to learning thrill experiences.

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore practical strategies for empowering students, fostering collaboration, and promoting meaningful engagement. Gain insights into how amplifying student voice can lead to impactful learning experiences.

Through interactive sessions, participants will explore practical strategies aimed at empowering student voice and agency, fostering feedback and collaboration for teachers and students, and promoting meaningful engagement leading to deeper and transfer of learning. Prepare to gain valuable insights into the profound impact that amplifying student voice can have on creating impactful learning experiences, improving student well-being and increasing school improvement outcomes.

With the education landscape constantly evolving, it is crucial for all members of the school community to incorporate dynamic and adaptations of technology leading towards transformational changes in teaching and learning. This workshop aims to address the current challenges in education that resulted from the recent global pandemic and present a pathway for the future of learning. By embracing student voice and agency, we can revolutionize the classroom environment and enhance educational outcomes.

As participants, you can look forward to achieving the following outcomes:
1. Acquire knowledge about effective strategies for empowering students.
2. Develop skills to foster collaboration among students.
3. Understand the significance of promoting meaningful engagement in the learning process.
4. Gain strategies that can be easily replicated that promote student connection and curiosity to their learning.
5. Develop rubrics with ease and limited time which can be implemented for students to self-asses where they are in their learning in order to move their learning from novice to expert and surface to deeper and transfer.

In addition to these outcomes, we will also explore relevant educational challenges and situations, such as providing strategies to involve students in increasing teacher clarity of learning targets, raising the level of learning success criteria, and the development and implementation of rubrics for student self-assessment. You will also learn how instructional leaders, coaches, and teachers can integrate data from this revolutionary technologically supported student check-in process data to make shifts in instructional practices that amplify impact.

To facilitate your learning journey, we have designed engaging activities/strategies that leverage electronic resources and tools.. These resources will be made available to you during the workshop, enabling you to gain hands-on experience with the materials and tools showcased.

Finally, evidence of success will be shared to demonstrate the positive outcomes achieved by implementing student voice and agency practices. Real-world examples and case studies will be presented, showcasing the transformative power of these approaches in enhancing educational experiences.
