Session description
Purpose & objective
Know how digital badges may be used to reinforce more equitable outcomes and overcome historical inequities.
Understand the trends in metadata and credential transparency in order to be able to design badges that will equip learners and institutions with a competitive advantage.
Know the role of blockchain technology in the digital credentials space in order to be able to make informed analysis of when blockchain matters and when it does not.
Know the essentials of functional requirement considerations in order to be able to lead a successful RFP process.
Outline
10 Minutes: Opening of session, online interactive poll to establish background knowledge and audience key wonderings.
20 Minutes: Rapid fire panel presentation on top "Things You Need to Know" about digital badging and micro-credentialing from 3 leading experts each sharing from their specific lens as a state department of education leader, a university leader, and a nonprofit EdTech leader.
30 MInutes: Ask Me Anything moderated panel discussion with priority on attendee questions. These panelists are among the topic experts on the planet. K-12 EdTech audiences have been especially limited in exposure to the bleeding edge conversations in this space since the Pandemic, and we want to prioritize time for addressing participant wonderings.
