Jennifer has a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education, and a Master's in Curriculum and Instructional Technology. She's had the privilege of serving the Moore Public School community as a teacher of Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, STEAM, and sponsoring an elementary tech team. She currently serves 13 elementary schools as a Curriculum Technology Specialist. Jennifer is passionate about sharing EdTech tools and ideas with teachers and encouraging a balanced, authentic approach to technology integration. She has been fortunate to have educators invest time and energy into her growth as a professional, and strives to do the same for others.

Session description

In this session we will explore and discuss NAEYC's research supporting play based learning and their recommendations for technology use in the early grades. We will examine academic and ISTE standards, and the Triple E Framework (Liz Kolb) to discover how technology can be used to support age appropriate learning.

Purpose & objective

Since Covid teachers and students have increased access to digital tools and resources; however the training need to support effective technology integration has not always been provided. In this session we will explore how the ISTE standards and Technology can be used to support standards and engaging research based instruction.

At the conclusion of this session educators will have a deeper understanding of research surrounding technology in the early childhood classroom, and how the ISTE standards can be used to support the planning of developmentally appropriate content. Educators will leave the session with a collection of ideas and resources can that easily be used when they get back to their classrooms.
