The purpose of this presentation is to not only introduce participants to tech tools, resources and strategies that address the 4C's, but also to give them practical and reproducible ideas for using them.
Skill development is something that should be considered every day when planning lessons. It is not enough to say "Students will know XYZ..." but students need to be able to think, share, obtain evidence, apply, create etc. They can only do this with practice.
I will share ideas at varying levels of expertise and effort. Some things can be implemented with little to no cost tomorrow, while others may take a time, resource or equipment investment.
I will model the importance of incorporating these tools and resources into every lesson. This might mean that a focus on critical thinking, communicating evidence or creating an artifact takes president over rote memorization or exposure to facts for facts sake. It is a mindset that creates a mindset.
Tools/resources/strategies that I KNOW I will present on:
Breakout EDU, Flipgrid, Meta VR Apps, Merge Cube, Panoform, Halo, LightHaus
However, we are several months out and I will spend time during the interim looking for more that fit the theme.
Each tool/strategy will be discussed for 3-5 minutes. I want to also work in time for participants to try some activities out on their own.
My hope is to have some "try-it" stations. So I will discuss some tools/activities and then invite participants to visit the stations and try things out.
