Emerging Technology — Beyond the Inflection Point

Hi! I'm Larisa (pronounced Lareesa) Black. I am a co-founder of the EduGuardians Professional Learning Network, a virtual science teacher, and an AI Literacy Coach. I founded my business, Teach Wise AI, to assist educators in integrating AI into their classrooms effectively. This is a transformative period in education, and I believe it is crucial for all of us to engage in discussions and decision-making regarding AI in education. These tools hold significant potential to enhance learning, but it is essential to understand both their possibilities and limitations.

Alyssa Faubion is an Instructional Design Coach at Forward Edge. With a decade of experience in the classroom, Alyssa spent 2 years at the middle school level and 8 years as a high school digital media teacher. She is a Google Certified Educator and enjoys sharing her knowledge of technology and passion for creativity with teachers and students. Outside of education, you will find Farmer Faubs enjoying the family farm and all of the animals that call her farm home. When she doesn’t have her boots on, she enjoys collecting shoes and enjoys cheering on her favorite sports teams.

Laura Hollis has been Director of Technology at Saddle River Day School since 2012 where she is responsible for overseeing all tech-related purchases, campus initiatives and integration projects. At SRDS, she teaches classes in the IDEAS lab makerspace and video production studio, founded the TEDxYouth club, and leads Gorls Who Code. She enjoys collaborating with students and teachers who are interested in using various tech tools to enrich lessons and projects. She lives in Mahwah, NJ with her husband and three sons.

Compositor, Teacher and Prompt Engineer, Paul is an urban educator with a unique vision for the Engineering and Technology. Founder of TACA Community Robotics. He bridges the Urban-Rural divide in teaching technology as a Literacy in community settings. The world is not bilingual, it is are Trilingual, Language arts, code and translation are all part of the new Maker world. For over 15 years, Paul brought Digital Literacy and Robotics to urban spaces and developed community engagement in digital literacy.
