Session description
Purpose & objective
Educators see the promise of AI but they are also concerned about artificial intelligence in the classroom. This session will address the challenges of privacy and plagiarism with practical strategies. The main focus, though, will be an overview of the newest and most promising AI enhanced tools for teacher use and student engagement. MagicSchool AI, Diffit, and Curipod will be described, along with lesser known specific use tools. Evidence of success will be in the form of interview responses, testimonials from teachers who have used these tools, and research showing learning outcomes.

Supporting research
My research is grounded in constructivist and experiential learning theory, developed and influenced by John Dewey, Lev Vygotsky, Jean Piaget, Jerome Bruner, and Montessori. Given the nature of artificial intelligence, and the rapid changes and discoveries, the majority of the articles and web sites cited will be less than three months old at the time of this presentation. Before the conference I will update the materials for the talk.
