Accessibility, Equity, and Inclusion Across Colorado

Elizabeth Castor has been teaching art since 2002 and has had the pleasure of teaching at all levels (K-12). There is always time to learn new skills and methods. It is important to model for the students that learning can be fun, a little daunting but worth the effort!

I taught computer design at Mountain Ridge Middle School in Colorado Springs for 19 years, during which time four of my lessons were published in the EdTech Magazine. I obtained a Master’s in Technology in Education from Lesley University and became a Google Certified Innovator in 2009. I’ve presented at EdTechTeam Global Summits and authored two books. My YouTube channel, Kidsnetsoft, features over 600 educational videos. I spend most of my free time learning as much as possible about tech integration. My recent passion includes learning about AI tools for educators and students.

Kris has been working in K-12 education for over 30 years. She has been a middle school English Teacher, a middle school Tech Coordinator/Computer Teacher, a K-12 Digital Learning Coordinator, and is now the Instructional Tech Coordinator at a high school with almost 4,000 students in Cherry Creek Schools, CO. She has a BA in Elem Ed., and Masters degree in Computer Education. She is a WeVideo Ambassador, Google Certified Educator, Schoology Champion, InnEdCO Ambassador, Nearpod Coach, and Pear Deck Coach. In her free time, Kris enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling with her family.

Erin is a veteran teacher who is currently teaching English Language Development at a Title I school in Northern Colorado. She has been using philanthropy in the classroom to empower students to develop leadership skills and make change in their community. She also loves to cook, bake, and camp with her family.

Susan Murray-Carrico is a learner and educator with over 25 years of classroom experience at the elementary, middle, high school, and university levels. She specializes in instructional design and technology with an emphasis on Universal Design for Learning. Currently serving as a Technology Integration Specialist for instruction while completing her doctoral research on instructional design. #allmeansall

My name is Penny Potts and I have been teaching for 16 years. I have taught in Douglas County and am currently working in Littleton Public Schools. I have a master's degree in Responsive Literacy and have been invested in many educational technology ventures for over a decade. I have presented at the InnEdCO conference and also spoke at ISTE last time it was in Colorado. I am also a Making IT Happen award winner from 2017. I love being a life-long learner who is constantly inspired by my students and peers to always raise the bar in education.

Ezequiel Villanueva Ruiz is a Horticulture Scientist and AgriTech STEAM educator. I have over 10+ years of experience teaching science, MagicSchool.AI, Kebloom, and MTIP working with diverse student populations. He is originally from Mexico and lived and worked in England, Canada, and the United States. Some fun facts - Certified Greenhouse Grower, published horticultural research, and enjoys connecting students with hands-on science projects like hydroponics, aquaponics, robotics, and Innovation. ASL Carpool Karaoke! ASL 1 students learn how to change a song from English word order into American Sign Language and sign the meaning of the lyrics. As a class, we edit the project in WeVideo to create a fun, inclusive video with everyone participating and presenting all in one 3-4 minute video.
