Session description

Embark on an immersive journey from student to teacher in this PBL launch event. Dive into station rotations as a learner with VR and inquiry-based practices. Identify best strategies, possible next steps, and discover AI enhancements for a classic project. Explore tools to elevate PBL and leave with a project!

Purpose & objective

This is the launch event of a larger project. In it, participants will experience inquiry-based practices from the learner perspective, developing empathy for the needs of classrooms. Practices include:
- Station rotations (VR tours with Meta Quest and custom chat bots)
- Notice and Wonder (to observe and question)
- See, Think, Wonder (thinking routine to puzzle, model, and inquire)
- Unveiling Stories (thinking routine to unpack learning in the "teacher hat")

As part of unpacking the learning, participants will:
- Learn how AI can be a partner in project design, rather than a replacement for teacher expertise.
- Explore strategies for future projects in their own classrooms
- Explore an AI-powered PBL project planning platform, "The Project Builder"
