Supporting research
Broward County Public Schools Department of Teacher Development and Support utilizes a research-based framework that impact teacher effectiveness, retention, and student achievement. Built on norms of inquiry and continuous improvement, the programs support transformational leadership roles among teachers, mentors, and coaches. The process delineates priority areas with alignment to high yield strategies that engage teachers and instructional coaches in examining the components of pedagogy and adult learning theory. The coaching models are influenced by a wide variety of credible research from expert leaders in the field of coach development (Aguilar, Marzano, Knight, Poglinco).
